Disadvantages and irregularities of old Slovenian flag and escutcheon:
-Escutcheon is heraldically and vecsilologically incorrect because it contains lines which are permitted only to symbols of historical origin (500 years or more). Escutcheon contains 4 colors (blue, red, white and yellow) but in principal it should have 3 at the most;
-Escutcheon is not of historical origin; denotation of Triglav is 58 years old and the other parts of escutcheon are only 11.
-Triglav as such is not denotation image of the highest Slovenian mountain but marks triple deity, the mark it self is generalized incorrectly;
-Escutcheon is not presenting an image of whole Slovenian nation but only 3 countries: Triglav (Upper Carniola), 3 stars (region of Celje) and the sea (South coast or Slovenian part of Istra);
-Flag with escutcheon that presents Slovenian republic is very similar to Slovakian and Russian. Several people mix our flag with Croatian and Yugoslavian (Srbia, Montenegro) flag. The colors are still placing us to so-called “Balkan’’ in negative sense;
-Foreign press is constantly mixing Slovene flag with other flags, especially with Slovakian and Russia;
-The flag flutters only vertically and so does not achieve 3D effect on the observer.
